Well, it's been nearly 18months if not longer since I took the aerials down prior to moving south.

I've been rummaging around some of the boxes that had only been partially unpacked in the garage and found the Uniden Bearcat 980SSB CB along with a bunch of other bits and pieces.

My antenna masts have been on the ground since we moved and the 10m 1/2 wave and PRS verticals are currently in their tubes up in the rafters.

Then I found the G5RV in a box. This got me thinking, maybe it's time to put some aerials back up and have a scan around both 10m ham, 11m SSB CB and see what PRS activity is around (if any down here).

I'll have to see about getting a tuner for the FT101e to run the g5rv on HF, though I'd still like to look at getting a DX Commander vertical to cover the HF bands but currently the cost is out of my budget.

But, watch this space. I'm going to be setting up base stations for CB 27MHz and PRS & I may put both back into my vehicle as I do miss chatting with the world while mobile.
