Welcome to my Blog, this is my personal journal.
Random thoughts, squawks & plaudits found here.
The good, the bad and the sometimes ugly.
The first of October is always an exciting day for anglers, as it marks the opening of a new fishing season. This year, it also coincided with the Southland Fly Fishing Club's committee meeting, which, as tradition holds, included a fly-tying session.

With my recent decision to finally take the plunge and move into fly fishing, and the fact I do like the idea of being able to tie my own flies, while trawling the net looking for fly tying information, I came across a neat tool for tying knots.

Hello,
Welcome to my blog. Please note that I am currently in the process of migrating everything from Wordpress to Joomla.
As such, there will be some older content that will not get migrated across due to it either being deprecated information or simply no longer relevant.
I am also modifying categories to reflect new hobbies and interests that I am now undertaking.

When I obtained my callsign ZL4KJ, I instantly ran in to an issue when it came to my logging software. In the fact I couldn't update my callsign on log entries to reflect the new callsign.
This meant I had to do a quick google search to figure out if it was possible to update the callsign on the software's license or if I had to purchase it all over again. Not looking forward to having to re-purchase it I was pleasantly surprised that I could put in a support ticket to have my callsign changed.

What is a Winlink Peer to Peer Message?
A Winlink Peer-to-Peer or P2P Message is a method of sending emails via Winlink that will be sent from your station directly to the recipients station.
For this method to work, both stations must be on the same frequency with a Winlink P2P Session open and ready to send/receive the connection from the sending station.
