The Southland Fly Fishing Club held a Casting Day down at the Cricket Grounds at Queens Park this afternoon.

A fun and very successful few hours was had by many members and non-members alike.

As this was the first time I had even attempted casting a "dry fly" (wool) or even holding a fly rod for that matter I was guided by members and the club had organised Mike Weddell to be in attendance.

Mike is also lined up to take the Learn to Fly Fish Course in January. I am very much looking forward to the course.

Thanks to the Southland Fly Fishing Club and also to Mike for a wonderfully informative afternoon of learning to and practicing casting.

I unfortunately forgot to take any photos, (I was too busy enjoying myself learning how to cast) therefore I had A.I. create the intro image for me.

Hopefully someone remembered to take some pics.
